• NMMA Registration #FB-30011B 10W-30
Superior Protection Against Engine Wear
Marine engines operate under high loads and RPMs for extended periods of time, causing traditional automotive oils to break down and lose viscosity. To ensure good protection, the NMMA set minimum shear stability requirements for FC-W. AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke® Marine Synthetic Motor Oil greatly exceeds the FC-W shear stability requirements, outperforming competitive oils to deliver a superior lubricating film. Formula 4-Stroke® Synthetic Oil also contains robust anti-wear additives that further reduce wear in metal-to-metal contact regions (see Four-Ball Wear Test graph).
While automobile engines normally operate at around 2,500 rpm, outboard motors can run twice as fast, requiring greater levels of wear protection and better bearing durability than automobiles. In addition, prolonged idling and low operating temperatures contribute to fuel dilution, further thinning the oil. To ensure adequate protection for their engines, marine engine manufacturers set minimum high temperature/high shear (HTHS) viscosity limits. AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke® Marine Synthetic Motor Oils are shear stable and formulated with sophisticated oil additive chemistry, exceeding the HTHS requirements of both the API and NMMA FC-W (see graph).
Excellent Anti-Rust Performance
Marine engines are prone to rust, leading to uncontrolled wear and premature engine failure. However, good rust protection is not natural to engine oil. It comes only by design. Formula 4-Stroke® Marine Synthetic Motor Oil is fortified with a special anti-rust agent, even more than required to pass stringent NMMA FC-W anti-rust testing.
Applications
AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke® Marine Synthetic 10W-30 Motor Oil (WCT) is recommended for gasoline fueled four-stroke outboard, inboard, inboard/outboard (I/O) and personal watercraft motors. AMSOIL WCT motor oil is recommended for the following applications whenever an SAE 5W-30, 10W-30 or straight SAE 30 oil is called for:

New AMSOIL Saber Professional (ATP) and Saber Outboard (ATO) Synthetic 2-Cycle Oils are specifically designed for lean mix ratios in pre-mix applications. Saber Professional contains high temperature detergents for small power equipment. Saber Outboard contains lower temperature dispersants for water-cooled outboard motors. Extensive testing shows superior lubricity and cleanliness properties at lean mix ratios of these premium synthetic formulations.
Product Code: ATP & ATO
Product Description
AMSOIL Saber Professional (ATP) and Outboard (ATO) Synthetic 100:1 Pre-Mix 2-Cycle Oils are formulated with exclusive AMSOIL synthetic base oils and premium additives. Designed for lean mix ratios in two-cycle motors, Saber 2-Cycle Oils have excellent lubricity and cleanliness properties, controlling friction and preventing wear, plug fouling, ring sticking and exhaust port blocking. AMSOIL Synthetic 100:1 2-Cycle Oils have been protecting and providing improved performance in two-cycle motors since 1973.
Saber Professional
Saber Professional (ATP) is specifically designed for small engines including, but not limited to, chain saws, lawn equipment, blowers, chop saws, pumps, scooters and go-carts. It is also very good for use in motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, jet boats and personal watercraft. Saber Professional is formulated with high temperature detergent additives that prevent hard carbon deposits from forming in these hot operating motors. Saber Professional is smokeless and delivers as much as 30 percent fewer emissions at 100:1 mix ratios than oils mixed at 50:1. Equipment operators subjected to smoke and fumes will benefit from these low emission properties. Because one mix ratio satisfies multiple pieces of equipment, Saber Professional eliminates mix ratio confusion. Saber Professional is recommended for pre-mix where ISO-L-EGD, JASO FC or API TC is specified.
Saber Outboard
Saber Outboard (ATO) is specifically designed for outboard motors. It is also very good for personal watercraft, jet boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles and ATVs. Marine
Dual Remote Filtration System
(BMK-18)
The BMK18 is packaged in kit form,
which includes the Dual filter mount,
mounting hardware, hoses, hose fittings,
component parts and installation instructions.
In addition, adapter kits of four
different sizes enable the BMK18 to
be installed on a wide variety of
recreational and light commercial
marine engines.
Product
Description
The Marine Dual Remote Filtration System (BMK18) offers
easily accessible remote mounting capability for a full-flow
spin-on oil filter and a spin-on by-pass oil filter. This
unique combination of both full-flow and by-pass filtration
on a single mounting manifold is the only system of this
kind designed specifically for marine applications.
Improved
Performance
The effects of marine engines running predominantly at
or near full throttle after extended periods of non-activity
include high operating temperatures and increased
potential for wear on engine components. Dual remote
filtration is a highly efficient filtering process capable of
removing the vast majority of particles in the 5-20 micron
range; those that cause the most wear. Dual remote filtration
also has the ability to effectively remove particles
down to one micron in size. The AMSOIL Marine Dual
Remote Filtration System (BMK18) offers a clear advantage
by providing better oil filtration, increased oil capacity
and longer oil and filter life.
Reduces
Heat
The
BMK18 requires a one- to two-quart oil volume increase, offering
increased oil cooling capabilities. The additional hoses, fittings,
filters and aluminum mount assemblies also allow the engine oil to
dissipate heat more efficiently as it passes through the filtration
system, extending the service life of both the engine and the engine
oil..
Outstanding
Durability
The Marine Dual Remote Filtration System is designed to
be used in harsh marine environments. The hose fittings
are coated with a 3 ml layer of Alumiplate™ and 1 ml of
zinc and yellow chromate. This Alumiplate coating is 10
times more corrosion resistant than standard zinc and
yellow chromate plated fittings. While standard hydraulic
fittings typically survive 96 hours in the grueling ASTM
B-117 Salt Spray Test, the Alumiplate-coated AMSOIL
Marine By-Pass System fittings lasted over 1,000 hours.
In addition, the fasteners and mounting bracket are stainless
steel and the hoses are U.S. Coast Guard approved.
Fewer
Oil Changes
Depending on the boat owner’s hours of use, the
improved filtration of the Marine Dual Remote System,
along with the use of AMSOIL synthetic lubricants, could
completely eliminate oil and filter changes during a typical
boating season. With marine engines located in a relatively
confined and remote space within the watercraft,
ease of filter access and reduced oil spillage are also significant
benefits of the BMK18.
Applications
A large number of marine diesel engines have by-pass oil
filtration systems installed by the engine manufacturer.
Until now, however, this technology has not been available
to smaller pleasure boats and light commercial
marine applications. The AMSOIL Marine Dual Remote
Filtration System was specifically designed for recreational
and commercial marine applications that use
inboard or inboard/outboard stern drive engines.
The BMK18 is packaged in kit form, which includes the Dual filter mount, mounting hardware, hoses, hose fittings, component parts and installation instructions. In addition, adapter kits of four different sizes enable the BMK18 to be installed on a wide variety of recreational and light commercial marine gasoline-fueled engines, including those manufactured by Chris Craft, Chrysler, Crusader, Evinrude, Johnson, Gray Marine, Mercruiser, OMC, Pleasurecraft, Universal, Volvo Penta and Westerbeke.
The BMK18 kit offers a new heavy-duty, machined aluminum adapter and retaining nut that fits on the existing oil filter mount. Each adapter kit is application specific and must be ordered separately. Consult the Marine Dual Remote Application Guide (G2051) or www.amsoil.com for specific applications. Adapter kits are available for the most popular filter thread sizes. When ordering the BMK18, request one of the following adapter kits:
• BK195 for 3?4" x 16 thread
• BK196 for 13?16" x 16 thread
• BK197 for 18 mm x 1.5 mm thread
• BK198 for 20 mm x 1.5 mm thread
Also, for ease of installation in some applications, optional 90-degree fittings (BK199 and BK200) can be mounted on the filter adapter collar. These parts are also sold separately.
The AMSOIL Marine Dual Remote Filtration System represents the cutting edge of filtration technology, another example of the AMSOIL commitment to providing quality innovations that benefit consumers everywhere.
The remote mount of the BMK18 is compatible with the AMS-Oiler™ Oil Precharger (AMK01). For added engine protection, install the AMK01 to reduce dry starting which is typical of marine engines that sit idle for even short periods of time.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL GL Series multi-purpose, EP greases are qualified against the highest grease standards*,
NLGI GC (wheel bearing) and LB (chassis), and are designed for multiple
use applications. These greases are composed of synthetic base oils and
lithium complex thickeners that provide the film strength, shear
resistance and mechanical stability required for good grease
lubrication. This combination excels in high and low operating
temperature ranges by providing excellent oxidation stability, high
temperature dropping points, good low temperature torque values and
good low temperature pumping capabilities. The GL Greases are
compounded with an effective oil soluble extreme-pressure additive for
heavy loads, plus oxidation and corrosion inhibitors that impart good
oxidation stability and rust protection.
AMSOIL's top performing lithium complex thickener system provides excellent adhesion properties and water resistance as identified by ASTM D-1264 water washout test. This resistance to water means a protective film of lubricant remains present to protect equipment against wear while the corrosion inhibitors prevent rust. AMSOIL GL Greases adhere to metal in all types of environments and they resist squeeze out during operation. These qualities ensure maximum lubricant protection during harsh operations.
AMSOIL GL multi-purpose greases are recommended for many different applications. Its diversity simplifies lubricant inventories and prevents greasing errors while providing problem-free operation. AMSOIL GL Greases reduce repair and maintenance costs.
PERFORMANCE FEATURES
* Applicable only to NLGI Consistency Grades #1 and #2
APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION
AMSOIL GL Greases grades #0, #1 and #2, are recommended for
use in manual or automatic lubricating systems. NLGI #0 (GLA) and #1
(GLB) have better mobility and are the preferred choice for colder
applications, for automatic lubrication systems with long pumping runs,
and for gear box applications (where recommended by manufacturer). NLGI
#2 (GLC) is the preferred choice for medium to high ambient
temperatures, sleeve type bushings, high shock loading environments,
wet environments. and is the primary choice for wheel bearings.
The correct consistency grade of AMSOIL GL multi-purpose greases are recommended for use in heavy and light duty applications found in manufacturing plants, automotive applications, agricultural equipment and construction equipment. These include, but are not limited to, roller bearings, plain bearings, thrust bearings, gears, electric motors, presses, winches, bushings, wheel bearings. chassis lubrication, universal joints, ball joints, tie-rod ends, and steering knuckles. AMSOIL GL greases are suitable for use up to 350 F When operating at elevated temperatures, frequent regreasing may be required.
AMSOIL GL Lithium Complex Greases are compatible with many other types of greases. However, it is recommended that when changing greases, the equipment be cleaned of the old grease when possible or flushed with a liberal amount of the GL grease while the mechanism is in operation. Closely monitor the system for any inconsistencies. Grease compatibility questions should be referred to your AMSOIL representative or AMSOIL Inc.
APPLICATION MAINTENANCE
Maintaining a clean work environment is important when
equipment greasing is performed. Wipe grease fitting clean prior to
injecting grease to prevent contaminant ingestion. Maintain bearing
housings one-third to one-half full of grease. Do not over-grease, as
excessive heat buildup can result. Supplement standard grease
maintenance by periodically cleaning and packing housings with fresh
grease on an established maintenance schedule.

thickeners that provide the film strength, shear resistance and mechanical stability required for good grease lubrication. This combination excels in high and low operating temperature ranges by providing excellent oxidation stability,
high temperature dropping points, good low temperature torque values
and good low temperature pumping capabilities. The GL Greases are
compounded with an effective oil soluble extreme-pressure additive for heavy loads, plus oxidation and corrosion inhibitors that impart good oxidation stability and rust protection.

Maintaining a clean work environment is important when equipment greasing is performed. Wipe grease fitting clean prior to injecting grease to prevent contaminant ingestion. Maintain bearing housings one-third to one-half full of grease. Do not over-grease, as excessive heat buildup can result. Supplement standard grease maintenance by periodically cleaning and packing housings with fresh grease on an established maintenance schedule.

AMSOIL PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
AMSOIL GL Series Greases are available in 14-oz. cartridges, 16-oz. tubs.

NLGI #1 and #2 (Lithium Complex - Moly Fortified)
Extreme-pressure, moly-fortified. Provides outstanding protection for four wheel drive steering knuckles, spring shackles and other components operating in high-load, low-speed conditions. Product Codes: GHB, GHD
APPLICATIONS OR REQUIREMENTS
The presence of moly provides an extra measure of protection in shock loading situations common in both construction and agricultural use. During heavy shock loading, the lubricant film between metal surfaces can be temporarily ruptured, but moly remains intact to prevent metal to metal contact which could cause equipment damage. Moly also assists in dirty environments or when proper re-greasing intervals are not followed.
AMSOIL's top performing lithium complex thickener system provides excellent water resistance as identified by the ASTM D-1264 water washout test. Therefore, even in wet conditions a lubricant film remains present to protect equipment against wear while the corrosion inhibitors prevent rust. AMSOIL GH greases adhere to metal and are shear stable during severe mechanical activity. These features mean the grease does not thin during operation, but rather it maintains its consistency and stays in place to provide good lubrication.
